Hood types & styles

Before purchasing a hood, you should identify what type of venting you require, this is often dependent on your current installation. Recirculation hoods filter the air through a carbon or charcoal filter so there's no need for an external vent. Keep in mind that these filters will need to be replaced every 6 months. Alternatively, choose a vented (or ducted) hood, which more efficiently removes smoke and odours from your kitchen through an external pipe that leads outside your home. This method requires little maintenance, but can be expensive if you need building work.
